Many people new to caravanning often ask the question – should I get an oven in my motorhome or caravan?
Some motorhomes and caravans come equipped with a gas oven, some are an option and others are not. Some come with a convection microwave that makes do as an ‘oven’. However if you have this option you either need to carry a generator on board to run it for free camping or end up staying in caravan parks to be able to use their convection microwave.
Some people wouldn’t be without an oven, some cook bread, roasts, muffins, pizzas, make treats just as they would at home. Whilst others prefer to take a long a BBQ and cook outside because they believe that they don’t like the smell that is left behind. Other’s argue ‘what smell’ not sure what ‘they are cooking’ to have a smell, our van has plenty of ventilation, so there is never a smell.
When it is raining and cold outside there is nothing better than a crispy heated pie in the oven, mash on the stove and don’t forget the peas and gravy!
What do you think? Oven or not?
