Sleek and stylish, the Eyre Motorhome has been extremely popular given its sleek and stylish looks matched with a huge number of practical attributes to gladden any motorhomer’s heart and now there are two further layout choices which will further enhance the appeal of the Eyre range.
Winnebago is now offering the Eyre with a choice of a high north/south queen width bed with walk in wardrobe, a lower north/south queen width bed and a single bed model.
Each layout is similar in that the living area is spacious and offers seating for five people as both the front driver and passenger seats easily swivel for use as comfortable lounge chairs complimenting a single lounge and a double bench seat which serves as a dinette.
Seat belts are provided for four people and for added safety, all seatbelts are the full lap/sash type of belt which securely restrains all passengers and the driver. A child restraint anchorage point is also provided to accommodate a child seat or baby capsule.
Fully air conditioned inside and lit by bright power saving LED ceiling lights, reading lights and attention grabbing strip lights, the feeling of comfort and contentment prevails as you relax watching the LED 12 volt television and being a 12 volt TV meaning it runs off the motorhome batteries, you do not have to be near a 240volt power supply in order to view your favourite TV shows or DVD’s.
All Eyre layouts offer a separate shower and toilet which also define the bedroom from the living area and a door can be locked over to provide more privacy in the bedroom. The kitchen is compact yet extremely functional, the large 150 litre AES three way refrigerator/ freezer providing ample space to store fresh produce and drinks.
The initial Eyre layout offered a unique walk in wardrobe which was easily accessible simply by lifting the bed assisted by gas struts to reveal a large storage space for hanging clothes, shelving and drawers for other items to be stored.
The new queen width bed layout offers a lower bed which obviously reduces the wardrobe space underneath but still provides a remarkable amount of storage and clothing hanging space is available on either side of the bed. The single bed model likewise offers lower beds set adjacent to each side wall, both beds lift to reveal storage space underneath a wardrobe with hanging space is located on the rear wall between the two beds and also doubles as bedside tables for each bed.
All beds are large and full length, offering slatted bases for additional comfort and the mattresses are envirofoam, lightweight and extremely comfortable for a fantastic and relaxed night’s sleep.
Outside, one of the main features of the Eyre model range is immediately apparent. Its sleek low profile styling means it is the lowest of any motorhome on the market today and at a height of 2.79 metres from the road to its topmost extremity, storage is generally not a problem.
On the subject of storage, all Eyre models offer a huge rear external storage locker the width of the motorhome with access doors on both sides and on the rear wall so access to the storage locker is exceptionally easy. In addition to the rear locker, forward of the entry door is full width pass through storage suitable for longer items such as fishing rods.
All Eyre models are powered by the world renowned Fiat Ducato 180 multijet, remarkably powerful and smooth and extremely car like to drive, incorporating all the features you would expect from a luxury vehicle including electric windows and mirrors, cruise control, a trip computer, GPS system and is available in either 6 speed manual or 6 speed automated manual transmission.
