In a tranquil tropical setting of white sands, turquoise water and gently swaying coconut palm trees, epitomising perfectly the carefree and relaxing motorhome lifestyle, the Dealer Network gathered for the prestigious Winnebago Annual Dealer Conference and Awards dinner.

The Winnebago Dealer of the Year Award is an acknowledgement of achievement in all facets of a Winnebago Motorhome Dealership with emphasis not only on exceptional sales performance but more importantly on the aftersales activity of the dealership including all aspects of looking after the customer after the sale.

Ben Binns, CEO and Director of Winnebago announced that The Winnebago Dealer of the Year for 2012 is AUSTRALIAN MOTORHOMES of Bennett’s Green, Newcastle NSW.

Accepting the award from Mr Binns was Ron Warden, Owner and Dealer Principal of Australian Motorhomes who dedicated the award to his 27 staff members “without every single one of my team, this award would not be possible” Ron said. “We are proud to be a longstanding Winnebago Dealer and I know that we all put in a huge effort to ensure we live up to everyone’s expectations”.

Australian Motorhomes was also the recipient of The Service Dealer of the Year award and a Sales Achievement award.

Winnebago recognises each aspect of the Motorhome business and a number of other awards were presented for exceptional achievement in 2012.

  • Merit achievement award – Winnebago Townsville
  • Dealer Employee of the Year – Owen Wyer, Winnebago Townsville
  • Sales Person of the Year – Phil Rorke Sydney RV Penrith
  • Most Improved Sales Performance – Albury Wodonga Winnebago

The motorhome industry is all about people whether those people are employees of Winnebago, or at each of the Dealerships or in fact are our customers.

Winnebago seeks always to acknowledge exceptional performance within its Dealer Group and decided that in 2012 Owen Wyer, the Sales Manager employed by Winnebago Townsville displayed more than ample passion, loyalty, knowledge and customer service to be a worthy recipient of the Dealer Employee of the Year Award.

While the past few months for Winnebago have been overshadowed by the legal matter conducted out of the USA, the mood locally is extremely positive and exceptionally buoyant.

The intent to appeal the judgement has been announced and the confidence in the future wellbeing of Team Winnebago is prevalent throughout but all thoughts of the future were put aside as the Sales Achievement awards were announced and congratulations are well deserved:
