Winnebago’s recently released luxurious Explorer Discovery 2684LE (Limited Edition) has established a new benchmark for specification and quality of finish in an A-Class motorhome.
Winnebago’s Ben Binns said the Explorer Discovery included a range of enhancements to deliver even greater luxury and amenity for touring Australia.
“We’ve taken one of our most popular models and added even more features to create a motorhome package that will appeal for its driveability and functionality but above all, luxury finish and appointments.
“The Explorer Discovery sets a benchmark in a 26 foot A-Class motorhome and we think it will be of great appeal to those seeking extra comforts and performance for their time on the road,” Mr Binns said.
The Explorer Discovery 2684LEs interior appointments mean even extended travelling can be done in comfort. Many of the new features in the Discovery are designed to enhance comfort and useability.
These include flush fitting glass tops for the stove and sink to increase the useable meal preparation area, a quality Dometic range hood to disperse cooking odours, and a separate under bench oven and grill provide the complete modern kitchen. An easy to access two-door 150 litre 3-way fridge freezer and an additional drink tank, pump and filter is also standard in the Explorer Discovery.
Further enhancements include the adoption of a swivel cassette toilet, an extra toilet cassette and a new design shower pan. A Euro roof hatch measuring 600 x 900 provides healthy fresh air circulation while Winnebago’s unique ducted roof air conditioning system in combination with Winnebago’s super panel, insulated floor, walls and roof keep the living space cool on the hottest of days and warm in the cooler climates.
The plush interior of the new Explorer features a CD stacker, DVD / video combination, 51cm TV in the front area and an LCD TV in the rear bed area as well.
The Explorer Discovery 2684LE features larger internal dimensions than the standard 25 series Explorer aiding accessibility around the motorhome and allowing for inclusions such as a third captain’s chair and larger rear storage area. Other improvements include the use of day and night shades, modern décor fabrics on furnishings including curtains and quality floor coverings with hard wearing vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom area and wall to wall carpet in the bedroom and lounge area and acoustic insulation in the fabric lined ceiling.
The Discovery is constructed on the proven Workhorse P Series chassis which features independent front suspension, anti-lock four wheel disc brakes and a four speed transmission with cruise control fitted for comfortable long distance driving. The driving cockpit is also fitted with a rear vision reversing camera, large driving mirrors, and comfortable leather trimmed bucket seats for long hours on the road.
The Discovery’s body construction is of Winnebago’s usual superior standard and features an aluminium frame with Winnebago’s foam insulated super panel and a domed roof. The floor is constructed of one piece plywood, laminated on a steel frame foam and fully insulated sandwich panel with galvanised under floor protection. The External body is finished in a baked acrylic urethane for superior wear. A roll out awning, roof rack with access ladder and gas strut operated luggage storage draws complete the package.
According to Ben Binns more Australians, particularly empty nesters and retirees, are purchasing motorhomes and exploring the country in comfort and at their own pace.
“The motorhome industry has boomed as more people have become more aware of the safety and joy of touring Australia,” Mr Binns said. “The Explorer Discovery 2684LE adds to our extensive Australian-manufactured motorhome range and provides an extremely high quality vehicle with superior comfort, aesthetically pleasing finish and practicality making it the ideal vehicle for extended periods on the road.”
“Consumers will appreciate the raft of enhanced features the Explorer Discovery model offers particularly in the kitchen storage and entertainment areas.”
